For the 119th time, the U.S. Open is being contested with the nation's championship handed out to the victor of a massive field of (mostly) professionals along with some of the top amateurs and qualifiers in the country. And for the first time, it stands as the third major of the season now that the PGA Championship has taken place between it and the Masters. With 79 golfers having qualified for the weekend and still playing on Sunday, there is a full day's worth of golf to enjoy this Father's Day.

Tiger Woods did himself no favors in his third round and was looking just as rough on Sunday but ultimately closed strong. Back-to-back defending champion Brooks Koepka is in striking distance of leader Gary Woodland, though Woodland continues to play great golf to keep him just inches ahead of Koepka, Justin Rose and the rest of the field.

Will Woodland be able to pull it out, or will the competition be simply too much for the man looking to become the latest first-time major winner? It is getting tight down the stretch was we are near the end of the third major championship of 2019.
