Since the 2015 Match Play Championship is being played at TPC Harding Park, I've been looking for an excuse to post this playoff of Tiger Woods and John Daly.

Why?

Well, the 2005 American Express Championship (now the Cadillac Championship) was played at Harding Park and ended with Woods and Daly dueling for top prize.

Anyway, today is John Daly's 49th birthday (happy birthday, J.D.), so there's an excuse to post about this.

Woods shot a 67 on the final day at Harding Park that year to sneak into the playoff with Long John. Daly yanked a three-footer on the second playoff hole and the tournament was Woods'.

Listen to Mike Tirico's call below. He cannot believe it.

"When we were taking the carts back to the tee," Woods told the New York Times, "I couldn't hear anything. In my left ear, I'm half deaf, people whistling and screaming, and then my right ear, I'm half deaf. It was electric, it was loud, people were really into it. J.D. brings huge galleries everywhere he goes."

Daly agreed that their matchup was immense.

"I don't think there are a lot of people watching NFL football right now," he said.

Sergio Garcia, who I'm picking this week, finished T-3 that week.
