Orioles designated hitter Delmon Young came up big in a pinch-hit appearance Friday, smacking a three-run double in the eighth inning to put his team ahead for good in a 7-6 win over the Tigers in Game 2 of the American League Division Series.
Young didn't get into his team's Game 1 win, but he was called upon to face Joakim Soria with his team down 6-4 after a walk loaded the bases in Game 2. The crucial hit comes after Young delivered a .302/.337/.442 line in 242 regular-season at-bats.
