The photo, obviously, dates back to Marcus's days at Duke, whence the Jays selected him with the 22nd overall pick of the 2012 draft. Anyhow, pictured at left would be one Earl Stroman, who according to high-level Internet research is a police detective. Appearances suggest that he's capable of handling all such job-related tasks and duties, including but not limited to punching down abandoned buildings.
Presumably, Earl Stroman needs things, but a spotter is not likely among them.
