The Orioles and right-handed reliever Darren O'Day have announced their two-year contract with a club option. Earlier this month, CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman reported the deal was worth $5.8 million guaranteed with a $4.25 million club option.
Baltimore plucked the 30-year-old O'Day off waivers from the Rangers last offseason. The sidewinder emerged as manager Buck Showalter's top setup man in 2012, pitching to a 2.28 ERA in 67 innings. He allowed one hit in seven scoreless innings during the postseason. The contract buys out O'Day's final two years of arbitration eligibility.
