Mets outfield prospect and former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow is on the All-Star Game ballot for the South Atlantic League's Southern Division. You can click here to vote. Tebow's going up against fellow Sally League left fielders Ryan Scott of Greenville and Jacob Heyward of Augusta.
Tebow, 29, is batting .221/.312/.346 with three home runs in 40 games at the Low-A level. Those obviously aren't great numbers, especially considering how much younger Tebow's peer group is. However, he's played a bit better after his slow start to 2017, and any All-Star vote is in part a referendum on popularity. Tebow is of course one of the most popular athletes around, so getting voted in seems like a strong possibility.
As for the Mets, they may be looking at advancing Tebow to a higher level by mid-season. Our Mike Axisa recently explained why it would make sense for the Mets to promote Tebow soon.
