Major League Baseball completed its 2020 amateur draft on Thursday. The spread of the novel coronavirus required the draft to be held virtually instead of in Omaha, Nebraska alongside the College World Series. The owners' desire to slash costs, meanwhile, led to the draft being shortened from 40 rounds to five.

With the No. 11 overall draft pick, the Chicago White Sox selected Garrett Crochet, a left-handed pitcher out of the University of Tennessee. The ChiSox earned an A from our CBS Sports experts for their overall draft haul:

It is essentially a two-player draft for the White Sox but they are two really good players. Lefty Garrett Crochet (first round) and righty Jared Kelley (second round) were consensus top-20 talents -- Kelley looked like a potential top-10 pick at times prior to the shutdown this spring -- and are potential impact players. Crochet could join the 50-man roster and pitch in the big leagues this summer. The White Sox had to go cheap with their third-, fourth-, and fifth-round picks to ensure they can sign Crochet and Kelley, but that's fine. Two top-20 talents in a five-round draft is a big win.
