Lowe is looking to make a comeback in 2019, Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports.
Lowe is currently working out in Portland, Oregon. The 35-year-old hasn't pitched in the majors since 2016, when he posted a 7.11 ERA and 1.58 WHIP across 49.1 innings for the Tigers, so he'll likely be forced to settle for a minor-league deal, with an invitation to spring training if he's lucky.

Mark Lowe: Cut loose by Dodgers
Lowe was released by the Dodgers on Monday, Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports.
Lowe was a long shot to break camp with the Dodgers after spending all of the 2017 season in the minors and struggling to a 6.66 ERA and 1.73 WHIP between Triple-A Tacoma (Mariners) and Triple-A Charlotte (White Sox). The 34-year-old is insistent on pitching in 2018, but he'll likely need to settle for a minor-league deal to do so.

Dodgers' Mark Lowe: Latches on with Dodgers
Lowe signed a minor-league contract with the Dodgers which includes an invitation to spring training, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Lowe spent all of last season in the minors after struggling to a brutal 7.11 ERA and 1.58 WHIP across 49.1 innings with the Tigers in 2016. Things didn't get much better for him in 2017, as he split time between Triple-A Tacoma (Mariners) and Triple-A Charlotte (White Sox) and finished the season with a 6.66 ERA and 1.73 WHIP across 48.2 innings. It appears his days as an effective major-leaguer may be behind him.

White Sox's Mark Lowe: Traded to White Sox
Lowe was traded by the Mariners to the White Sox, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Lowe is a veteran arm with extensive experience at Triple-A and in the majors. With the White Sox, he'll pitch for Triple-A Charlotte and could reach Chicago's bullpen before the end of the season.

Mariners' Mark Lowe: Set to sign with Mariners
Lowe is expected to sign a contract with the Mariners on Thursday, Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports.
The 33-year-old posted a 7.11 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in 2016 and struggled again this spring, resulting in the Tigers releasing him. Lowe spent time with Seattle from 2006-10 and again in 2015, accumulating a combined 3.45 ERA across 211.1 innings. He'll once again look to revive his career with the Mariners, as he did so in 2015 after having only pitched 18.2 innings in 2013-14 combined.

Lowe signed a two-year deal with the Tigers after a strong 2015, but things never worked out in Detroit. He posted a 7.11 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in 2016 and didn't do enough this spring to make the bullpen. Lowe was formally placed on waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release, so the 33-year-old could latch on somewhere else to begin the season.

Tigers' Mark Lowe: Looks for bounce-back 2017
After a disastrous 2016 campaign, the Tigers are hoping a mechanic adjustment and the time off help Lowe get back on track, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Lowe signed a two-year deal with Detroit after posting a 1.96 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 55 innings in 2015. But he saw his ERA balloon to 7.11 and his WHIP jump to 1.58 in his first season with the Tigers. Lowe's fastball and slider both lost velocity, and he acknowledged that he tinkered with his approach throughout the season without much success. Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said Lowe told him he "found something mechanically" over the offseason, making Ausmus optimistic that Lowe can rebound. His career stats outside of 2015, however, make that year look like an outlier. Expect better results this year, but don't expect a sub-2.00 ERA again.

Bullpen arms swing hot to cold from season to season, but Lowe's 2016 is about as cold as they come. His 2015 excellence is looking more and more like an anomaly, so there's little reason for fantasy owners to look his way unless or until he regains that form.

Although Lowe has been far from flawless, his recent performance represents a drastic improvement from May and June, when he allowed 24 runs over a combined 15.1 frames. His ERA now sits at 7.78 on the year to go with a 1.63 WHIP.
