Through 3 Quarters

Both the Charlotte Hornets and the Sacramento Kings have kept the scorekeepers busy with 200 between them three quarters in. a win is still up for grabs for either team, but Charlotte is up 101-99 So far, this is quite different from their previous head-to-head, which was decided by 30 points.

The Hornets have enjoyed the tag-team combination of shooting guard Kelly Oubre Jr. and shooting guard James Bouknight. The former has 19 points and five assists along with five rebounds and two blocks, while the latter has shot 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and has recorded 21 points and five boards. Bouknight hadn't helped his team much against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, so this is a nice turnaround for him.

With ten games going down to the wire already, it's been a real nail-biter of a season for Charlotte, and they are locked in another battle with Sacramento. Maybe they will pull away, but we predict a narrow margin.

Sacramento @ Charlotte

Current Records: Sacramento 11-14; Charlotte 14-13

What to Know

The Sacramento Kings have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. They will square off against the Charlotte Hornets at 7 p.m. ET Friday at Spectrum Center. The Kings will be strutting in after a win while Charlotte will be stumbling in from a defeat.

Sacramento didn't have too much trouble with the Orlando Magic at home on Wednesday as they won 142-130. Sacramento relied on the efforts of point guard De'Aaron Fox, who had 33 points, and shooting guard Tyrese Haliburton, who shot 5-for-6 from downtown and finished with a double-double on 18 points and 11 assists.

Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Charlotte had to settle for a 110-106 loss against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. The loss was just more heartbreak for Charlotte, who fell 127-124 when the teams previously met earlier this month. Despite the loss, they got a solid performance out of small forward Gordon Hayward, who had 31 points and seven assists in addition to five rebounds.

Barring any buzzer beaters, the Kings are expected to win a tight contest. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a three-game streak of ATS wins.

Charlotte's loss took them down to 14-13 while Sacramento's victory pulled them up to 11-14. Allowing an average of 116.04 points per game, the Hornets haven't exactly asserted themselves on the defensive end. We'll see if they can patch up the holes in their defense before their upcoming game.
