Just like Tim Duncan, the recently retired Kevin Garnett simply can't stay away from the basketball court.

Garnett, who just retired from the NBA on Sept. 23, visited the Clippers practice on Thursday to work out individually with Blake Griffin and the team's rookies according to ESPN's Arash Markazi.

Garnett visited the practice because he lives in Malibu and still remains close with Clippers coach Doc Rivers, who coached him with the Boston Celtics. Rivers actually told ESPN's Jackie MacMullan that he wanted Garnett to join the Clippers but also suggested that if the 21-year veteran didn't want to play again, he would offer him some sort of role on the team:

"He doesn't want to play," Rivers said. "I'm sure he won't play again. I think he realized, 'Why am I doing this?'

"I would have absolutely been interested in bringing him here. You always find a place for a guy like that, whose voice in the locker room is so strong, so clear, so impactful."

...

Garnett will stay in the game in some capacity, Rivers confirmed, and said he's already thinking up ways to bring him into the Clippers fold. Garnett has a home in Malibu, California.

"I'm going to offer him something," Rivers said. "I don't want to say too much right now. I just know he'd be a great asset to any team."

Since Garnett is so close with Rivers and he lives close to Los Angeles, it wouldn't be surprising if he joins the Clippers in some capacity. Assistant coach Sam Cassell is also former teammates with Garnett, so the future Hall-of-Fame big man has some strong ties to the organization.

Plus Rivers having Garnett work one-on-one with Griffin is incredibly smart. Griffin is already one of the top forwards in the game but if he can pick up some defensive skills and tricks on offense from Garnett, than his game will reach yet another level, making the Clippers overall a much better team.
