What to Know

The Denver Nuggets have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Brooklyn Nets and are hoping to record their first win since Nov. 14 of 2019. Denver's road trip will continue as they head to Barclays Center at 7:30 p.m. ET Sunday to face off against Brooklyn. The Nuggets will be strutting in after a victory while the Nets will be stumbling in from a loss.

Denver had enough points to win and then some against the Atlanta Hawks this past Friday, taking their game 133-115. Denver's success was spearheaded by the efforts of center Nikola Jokic, who posted a double-double on 20 points and ten boards in addition to seven dimes, and point guard Nah'Shon Hyland, who had 24 points. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Jokic has had at least ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn came up short against the Orlando Magic this past Saturday, falling 100-93. Brooklyn's defeat came about despite a quality game from point guard David Duke, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Duke had some trouble finding his footing against the Philadelphia 76ers this past Thursday, so this was a step in the right direction. Duke's points were the most he has had all year.

The Nuggets are now 15-14 while the Nets sit at 21-9. A couple stats to keep an eye on: Denver enters the contest with a 46.80% field goal percentage, good for fourth best in the league. But Brooklyn have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 42.90%, which places them second in the league. We'll see which of these strengths -- offense or defense -- will win out.
