Through 3 Quarters

The Atlanta Hawks are giving their home crowd exactly what it was hoping to see. They have emerged as the frontrunner after three quarters and are ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers 87-80.

The Hawks have been relying on power forward Danilo Gallinari, who has 18 points in addition to five boards, and point guard Trae Young, who has posted a double-double on 21 points and ten dimes along with four rebounds. Young does need to be careful, however, as he is in foul trouble with four. Shooting guard Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot is also in foul trouble with four.

Center Joel Embiid has led the way so far for Philadelphia, as he has dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards along with two blocks. A double-double would be Embiid's fifth in a row. Embiid has also picked up four fouls, though.

the Sixers have lost 90% of the time when they were down heading into the fourth quarter this season, so this one seems just about wrapped up

What to Know

The Philadelphia 76ers' road trip will continue as they head to State Farm Arena at 7:30 p.m. ET Friday to face off against the Atlanta Hawks. The neutral point spread forecasts a close one for these two.

Philadelphia was just a bucket short of a victory on Wednesday and fell 88-87 to the Boston Celtics. Point guard Tyrese Maxey had a pretty forgettable game, finishing with only six points on 3-for-13 shooting in his 32 minutes on the court.

Speaking of close games: Atlanta sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 114-111 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. The Hawks' point guard Trae Young did his thing and almost dropped a triple-double on 33 points, ten dimes, and eight rebounds. The matchup made it Young's fifth in a row with at least 30 points.

Everything went the 76ers' way against Atlanta in the teams' previous meeting in October as they made off with a 122-94 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Philadelphia since the squad won't have home-court advantage. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
