Memphis acquired Mitrou-Long and JaKeenan Gant in exchange for Bennie Boatwright on Friday, Tony East of the West Indianapolis Community News reports.
Mitrou-Long averaged 13.2 points, 6.1 assists and 4.7 rebounds over 25.9 minutes per game with the Mad Ants last season.

After coming off the bench in the season opener, Mitrou-Long has been in the starting lineup during each of the past three games. He was one of two Mad Ants to score at least 20 points Monday, and he led the team in assists during the narrow loss to Austin. Mitrou-Long recorded 10 points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds and two assists over 20 minutes in Wednesday's 125-120 loss to Westchester.
Although Mitrou-Long came off the bench for the Mad Ants during Wednesday's season opener, he was still quite efficient from the floor and led the depth players with seven rebounds. Even if Mitrou-Long continues to come off the bench during the G League season, he should see considerable run for Fort Wayne.

Mitrou-Long was waived by the Pacers on Saturday, according to the team's official Twitter account.
After signing with the Pacers on an Exhibit 10 contract at the end of November, Mitrou-Long failed to see any action in the preseason. It is likely that he will end up in the G League.

Pacers' Naz Mitrou-Long: Re-signs on Exhibit 10 deal
Mitrou-Long re-signed Sunday with the Pacers on an Exhibit 10 contract.
Mitrou-Long had previously been with the Pacers on a two-way deal during the 2019-20 season, appearing in five regular-season contests. Since Indiana has elected to use its two two-way spots on Brian Bowen and rookie Cassius Stanley in 2020-21, Mitrou-Long will face a tougher path to seeing action at the NBA level during the upcoming season. Assuming he's not included on Indiana's 15-man opening night roster, Mitrou-Long will likely suit up for the Pacers' G League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Mitrou-Long returned from an ankle injury Thursday, but the team held him out of Friday's contest as he continues to work himself back to full health. The 26-year-old has seen limited action in the G League as a result of his injury, but he's averaging 16.7 PPG and 8.8 APG. Mitrou-Long could presumably be ready to return sooner rather than later if all goes well with his recovery.

Mitrou-Long (ankle) hasn't appeared in either of the G League Fort Wayne Mad Ants' last two games since being assigned to the affiliate Jan. 14.
The Pacers' decision to send the two-way player back to Fort Wayne last week seemed to suggest that he had moved past the sprained right ankle, but his ongoing absence from game action indicates that he's not yet fully healthy. Fort Wayne is off the schedule until Jan. 25, so that will likely represent Mitrou-Long's next opportunity to play, as he's not expected to enter the NBA rotation at any point before then. Mitrou-Long hasn't appeared in a game for either the Pacers or Fort Wayne since Dec. 13.
