2024 NFL free agency live updates, offseason rumors: Latest on Mike Williams, Odell Beckham Jr. and others

The wheels of NFL free agency are spinning like there is no tomorrow. Just when you think the football's version of March Madness is subsiding, you get a bombardment of action and that is expected to continue with some really good players still available as the league begins Week 2 of the frenzy.

We've also seen major trades as Justin Fields was dealt to the Steelers. Before that deal transpired, Pittsburgh sent Kenny Pickett to the Eagles. We also saw Keenan Allen get traded from the Chargers to the Bears.

Kirk Cousins is arguably the biggest mover thus far, swapping out his Vikings purple for Falcons red after signing on with Atlanta. Several other teams made big improvements in free agency, including the Jets, who have further solidified the offense by adding left tackle Tyron Smith and wide receiver Mike Williams.

Early on in free agency, the league went on a remarkable run for running backs: former Giant Saquon Barkley landed with the Eagles, former Raider Josh Jacobs joined the Packers, former Packer Aaron Jones inked a deal with the Vikings, former Cowboy Tony Pollard signed with the Titans and, of course, former Titan Derrick Henry landed in Baltimore.

Here's a rundown of what you need to know:

Below, we'll have you covered during this free agent period. In our live blog, you'll see every important rumor and deal reached that goes down over this stretch. So, strap in as we navigate through another fascinating NFL free agency.

Chargers listening to offers for Keenan Allen, Mike Williams

It was reported Los Angeles was taking trade calls for defensive stars Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack. Now, according to Sports Illustrated, the Chargers are listening to offers for star Keenan Allen and fellow wideout Mike Williams. The team is trying to get under the cap before the start of the new league year (Wednesday 4 p.m. ET).

Tony Pollard landing spots

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said running back Tony Pollard is "the type of player you want around," adding that in the end it will come down to the business side of things. The Cowboys could stick with Pollard, but if they don't, the Texans and Eagles are two other teams that would work for the running back.

Take a look at our predictions for where Pollard will land and what his contract will look like.

How teams with low cap space can help themselves

Not all teams have a lot of freedom with cap space and spending money this offseason. Teams like the Bills, Chargers and Broncos may have to get creative to get the most out of their money this year. Here are how some teams with low cap space can have success.

Austin Ekeler landing spots

Austin Ekeler leads the league in touchdowns from scrimmage over the last three years, but had a rocky 2023 season that included a sprained ankle and a career low in yards per carry (3.5). Running backs are among the lowest in terms of franchise tag value, though his skills as a pass catcher make him more intriguing for teams.

Here is a look at which teams make sense for the 28-year-old.

Free agency rankings: Top 100 free agents

CBS Sports' Pete Prisco put together the top 100 players on the free agent market, with Kirk Cousins and Chris Jones topping the list. Take a look at the other 98 players who made the cut.

Josh Jacobs landing spots

In 2023, running back Josh Jacobs had career lows across the board with 233 carries for 805 yards and six touchdowns after the Raiders placed the franchise tag on him. His demand and worth may not be as high after a tougher season, but there are a handful of teams who could use him on their offense.

Baker Mayfield landing spots

Baker Mayfield had a career year with the Buccaneers in 2023, but the QB could be packing up and heading elsewhere. Will he stay or will he go is the big question this offseason. If he does leave, the Broncos and Steelers are two options for the 28-year-old.

Click here for his possible landing spots, as well as his projected contract.

Fields update

ESPN is reporting that all signs still point to Fields being traded before the NFL Draft. But there are rumblings that the market for Fields hasn't been as strong as Chicago had initially thought. Fields has had an up and down tenure in Chicago, and that might detract some of his potential suitors.

Russell Wilson's availability probably doesn't help Fields, either.

Derrick Henry landing spots

At the end of the 2023 season, running back Derrick Henry said goodbye to Titans fans after what was likely his last game in Tennessee. The 30-year-old could stay in the AFC South, with the Texans as one possible landing spot for Henry. Click here to find out what other teams make sense for the RB.

Kirk Cousins landing spots

Quarterback Kirk Cousins is an impending free agent and the Viking could be finding a home in another NFL city soon. Could we see him in a Broncos or Falcons jersey next season? Take a look at some potential landing spots for Cousins along with predictions for his next contract.
