NFL: Tennessee Titans at Oakland Raiders
Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

Titans star receiver A.J. Brown is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season despite missing time as of late due to a knee injury, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Brown did not play in Saturday's preseason exhibition with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, nor did he participate in joint practices with the club leading into this matchup last week. While this injury is less than ideal -- for the Titans and fantasy football managers -- the fact that he's still on track to play Week 1 should be looked at as a positive development.

Brown did suffer injuries to both of his knees last season, which forced him to miss two games. He underwent successful surgery on both knees back in January

The 24-year-old is heading into his third season in the NFL and looking to continue what has been an extremely productive start to his career. He's recorded back-to-back seasons with over a thousand yards receiving, which includes a 1,075-yard campaign in 2020. Brown also hauled in 70 passes and recorded 11 touchdowns last season, all of which were career highs.

This season, he'll be paired with fellow star receiver Julio Jones, who the Titans acquired in an offseason trade with the Falcons. However, the veteran has also been bit by the injury bug this offseason as he's been sidelined from both of Tennessee's first two preseason games. When asked Sunday if Jones would practice this week, head coach Mike Vrabel said, "In general, I don't know if he'll be out there this week."
