NFL Week 11 scores, highlights: 49ers' Brock Purdy perfect vs. Bucs; Giants' Tommy DeVito shreds Washington

It's Week 11 in the NFL, and there were plenty of interesting storylines that unfolded throughout the day. The Cowboys and Jaguars cruised against inferior opponents, while the Dolphins and Lions avoided big upsets. Two rookie quarterbacks (Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Tommy DeVito) led their teams (the Browns and Giants) to divisional victories. Elsewhere, the Packers beat the Chargers, the Texans held off the Cardinals, the 49ers handled the Bucs, the Rams stole a game from the Seahawks, and the Jets benched Zach Wilson in a blowout loss to the Bills.

Below, you can find all of the best plays in our one-stop shop for everything that happened in the NFL on Sunday. Scores, highlights, analysis, injuries, cool stats, you name it -- we covered it all from first kickoff to the final whistle of the late games.

Geno can't save Seahawks

Having missed the entire fourth quarter with an elbow injury, Geno Smith returned to try and save his team in the final minutes. The Seahawks, down 17-16, began at their own 25-yard line with about 90 seconds to play. Big passes to Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf set up Seattle inside Rams territory, but instead of spiking the ball after Metcalf's catch, the Seahawks ... ran the ball? Zach Charbonnet picked up just two yards, and then the Seahawks spiked the ball with just a few seconds to play. That left Jason Myers with a 55-yard field goal to win it, but he pushed his attempt wide right as Los Angeles secured the come-from-behind win.

The Seahawks are still two games ahead of everyone else for the seventh seed in the NFC, but one of those teams is the Rams (4-6), who now have the tiebreaker over their NFC West rival.

Brock Purdy perfect vs. Bucs

Check out these statistics from Brock Purdy's masterpiece of a performance vs. the Buccaneers (via CBS Sports research department):

  • Second QB in 49ers history with a perfect passer rating in a game (158.3) along with Joe Montana in 1989 vs. Falcons (minimum 15 attempts)
  • Second player with perfect passer rating this season (Josh Allen in Week 4 vs. Dolphins) (minimum 15 attempts)
  • 157.3 passer rating in last two games (highest in two-game span since 1970 (minimum 40 attempts))
  • Second QB since 1970 with 11-plus yards per pass attempt in three straight games (Kurt Warner in 1999 when he won MVP & SB MVP)

Could Purdy get back into the MVP conversation entering the season's final stretch? After this gem, why not?

Jets bench Zach Wilson

Zach Wilson has officially been benched (at least for the rest of this game). Tim Boyle replaced Wilson at the end of the third quarter after Wilson competed just eight of his 15 passes for 81 yards, one touchdown and one interception. New York plays on Black Friday vs. the Dolphins, so it remains to be seen who starts that game for Gang Green.

BIG-PLAY BILLS

This is the offense we've come to expect from the Bills over the past few seasons: big plays on big plays. A possession after Josh Allen's 28-yard pass to Ty Johnson, he threaded the needle to Khalil Shakir, who did the rest for the electric 81-yard score.

Awful trick play

Not only did this pass get intercepted, but Matthew Stafford was shaken up on the play. This might go down as one of the worst trick plays of the year.

Ty Johnson revenge game!

The former Maryland running back spent the past three seasons with the Jets before being released this April. Johnson signed with the Bills in late August, was waived, and then re-signed to the practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster Oct. 20, and he scored his first TD as a member of the Bills on Sunday. Buffalo extends its lead over New York.

Geno hurt, Drew Lock in at QB

First Kenneth Walker III, now Geno Smith. The Seahawks QB went into the blue medical tent after taking a massive hit from Aaron Donald right at the end of the third quarter. Looks like he's dealing with a shoulder injury. Drew Lock is in at QB.

Rout is on in San Fran

San Francisco is back to playing like a Super Bowl contender. It's now 27-7 49ers after Brock Purdy's third TD of the game, this one going to George Kittle.

First TD in 41 drives!

That's how bad it's been for the Jets offense, which hadn't gotten into the end zone since Breece Hall's 50-yard touchdown catch against the Giants ... before Halloween. New York had done literally nothing on offense in the first half against the Bills until the final drive. A fake punt pass (more on that below) sparked the 11-play, 84-yard drive that ended with Zach Wilson hitting Hall for the nine-yard catch and run. Bills hold a 16-6 lead at halftime.

Kupp limps off field, questionable to return

The Rams have been inept offensively in the first half, and now they're dealing with a banged-up Cooper Kupp. In the final minutes of the second quarter, Kupp limped off the field. The medical staff worked out his right leg as Kupp lay in visible pain, and then the L.A. star receiver went to the locker room before halftime. He's been listed as questionable to return with an ankle injury.

FAKE PUNT

  • Quarterback Zach Wilson: 2-for-8, 32 yards, 1 interception, 4.2 rating
  • Punter Thomas Morstead: 1-for-1, 18 yards, 118.8 rating

That basically tells you all you need to know about how the Jets have performed with Zach Wilson at quarterback. But credit to Morstead, who delivered a strike to cornerback Brandin Echols on fourth-and-2 from their own 24-yard line.

Purdy is BACK

The NFL questioned Brock Purdy during the 49ers' three-game losing streak. No one is questioning the 2022 Mr. Irrelevant now. Purdy has racked up 261 yards and two touchdowns in fewer than 20 minutes of game action -- including this perfectly placed dart to Brandon Aiyuk that ended up going for a 76-yard score.

Puka puts Rams on the board

Puka Nacua only had one target in the first half, but it went for a touchdown to pull the Rams within three points before halftime. With Cooper Kupp questionable to return with an ankle injury, Nacua will have to step up if L.A. wants to complete the season sweep of the Seahawks.

JSN sighting

Remember Jaxon Smith-Njigba? The first receiver taken in the 2023 NFL Draft? It's been a quiet season so far for the Ohio State standout, but he flashed his ability on this leaping 32-yard gain in double coverage. The big catch helped the Seahawks add to their lead with a field goal.

Bucs on the board

Mike Evans was dead silent the entire first half ... until he wasn't. Needing a score before halftime, the Buccaneers went to Evans, who hauled in a one-yard score from Baker Mayfield. He's got seven TDs this season in 10 games.

Jets OL takes another big hit

The Jets' offensive line has been a major problem this season, and now the unit is down its left tackle. Mekhi Becton, who has had his right knee repaired twice, suffered an injury to his right leg in the first quarter against the Bills. New York has listed Becton as questionable to return with an ankle injury.

Seahawks star RB doubtful to return

Seattle has a 7-0 lead over the Rams, but it'll likely play the rest of the game without Kenneth Walker III. The Seahawks' starting running back suffered an oblique injury on a six-yard run midway through the first quarter, and he was later listed as doubtful to return. In his absence, rookie Zach Charbonnet will likely shoulder the rushing load.

DK puts Seahawks up

The Seahawks want revenge for their Week 1 loss to the Rams, and they're off to a strong start Sunday. DK Metcalf got Seattle on the board on a short touchdown catch.

DeVito, defense combine for big upset

This might be the nail in the coffin for Commanders head coach Ron Rivera. Despite sacking Tommy DeVito NINE times, one short of a franchise record, Washington allowed DeVito to carve up its defense (18 for 26 for 246 yards and three touchdowns) and committed six turnovers. None of those miscues was as detrimental as Sam Howell throwing a pick-six to Isaiah Simmons that gave New York a 31-19 lead with just 16 seconds to play. A gutsy win for the Giants, who have beaten the Commanders twice this season.

Dolphins hold on

Big-time players make big-time plays, and that's exactly what Jalen Ramsey did to seal the Dolphins' seventh win of the season. Ramsey's second interception of the game, this one in the end zone, sealed a 20-13 win over the Raiders in a game in which Miami did not play its best.

Fourth win in final seconds

No Deshaun Watson, no problem for the now 7-3 Browns. With rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson leading the way, Cleveland did just enough to stave off the stingy Steelers. Dustin Hopkins made it happen, kicking his third walk-off field goal of the season. It marks the fourth time this season that Cleveland won in the final seconds (three fields goals and one touchdown).

Montgomery, Hutchinson complete Lions' big comeback

Playing the Bears for the first time since leaving them in free agency this offseason, David Montgomery served as the hero in the Lions' double-digit fourth-quarter comeback. His one-yard touchdown with 29 seconds left served as the game-winning score for Detroit, which overcame a 26-14 deficit with four minutes to play to improve to 8-2 on the season.

Texans survive

Like I said last week, just give DeMeco Ryans Coach of the Year and C.J. Stroud Rookie of the Year already. The Texans are now 6-4 and in playoff position after holding off the frisky Cardinals despite three red-zone interceptions from Stroud.

BIG BOY TD

In his 66th career game, the Titans' Jeffery Simmons just accomplished something for the first time: he caught a touchdown pass. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound defensive lineman snuck out of the backfield and caught the short score in the fourth quarter versus the Jaguars. Tennessee won't win this game, but that's a really cool moment for Simmons.

Giants eye win No. 3

After Saquon Barkley's second TD of the game and the Giants' fifth turnover forced, it's looking more and more likely that New York will get its third victory of the season. Commanders in trouble down 21-12.

Pick-six KING

If the Cowboys corral a pick-six, it's most likely coming from Daron Bland. The second-year cornerback now has FOUR interceptions returned for a touchdown in 2023 after taking back Bryce Young's pass 30 yards to the house. Four pick-sixes is the NFL single-season record that Bland now holds with three others: Ken Houston (1971), Jim Kearney (1972) and Eric Allen (1993).

Pollard punches it in

Tony Pollard has had a quiet Year 1 as the Cowboys' featured back, but maybe this run gets him going for the rest of the season. Pollard ripped off a 21-yard carry for the score -- his first since Week 1 -- to give Dallas some breathing room against the Panthers.

Fall, get up, fumble, lose possession

That's exactly what happened to Austin Ekeler on his second-and-goal carry. Packers take over holding a 16-13 advantage early in the fourth quarter.

Packers, Chargers go back and forth

Despite playing without star Aaron Jones, the Packers are back ahead, thanks to Christian Watson's nine-yard touchdown. The extra point was missed, however, keeping the Chargers within a field goal.

Trickery leads to TD

The Titans most likely won't come back from a big deficit, but Will Levis and DeAndre Hopkins have been a promising duo for Tennessee since Levis became the starter. Lined up at wide receiver, Levis took the double-reverse pitch and then uncorked a seemingly effortless bomb that landed into the arms of the open Hopkins. Fourth touchdown connection between the second-round rookie and his star veteran receiver.
