  • Paul Turner: Waived by New England

Turner was waived by the Patriots on Friday, Christopher Price of the Boston Sports Journal reports.

Turner recorded nine receptions for 126 yards in his rookie season with the Eagles last year. Despite an unimpressive Patriots wide receiver corps behind Julian Edelman (suspension) and Chris Hogan, Turner was not able to carve out a spot on the 53-man roster. If Turner clears waivers, he'll attempt to sign elsewhere as a depth receiver or special teams option.

  • Patriots' Paul Turner: Signs with Patriots

Turner signed a contract with the Patriots on Friday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Turner last saw the field during the regular season in 2016 with the Eagles, recording nine receptions for 126 yards as a rookie. After being waived by the Saints in late June, he will try his hand with a Patriots club sporting a group of unimpressive wideouts behind Julian Edelman, who is suspended to begin the season. However, Turner will likely aim to serve as more of a special teams player.

  • Paul Turner: Waived by New Orleans

Turner was waived by the Saints on Thursday, Nick Underhill of The Baton Rouge Advocate reports.

Turner has spent the offseason with the Saints after being picked up back in January. If he clears waivers, he'll be a free agent able to sign with any team as he looks to hang on to a depth receiver and special teams slot in 2018.

  • Saints' Paul Turner: Signed to reserve/future contract

The Saints signed Turner to a reserve/future contract Friday, per the league's official transaction log.

Turner, who went undrafted out of Lousiana Tech in 2016, spent his rookie season with the Eagles but was waived ahead of the 2017 season opener. The diminutive wide receiver will likely need to make a name on special teams in order to stick with the Saints in 2018.

  • Paul Turner: Agrees to injury settlement

Turner (shoulder) agreed to an injury settlement with the Eagles on Friday, Zach Berman of The Inquirer reports.

Turner, on the mend from a shoulder injury, is now free to sign with another team.

  • Eagles' Paul Turner: Won't play Thursday

Turner (shoulder) won't play in Thursday's matchup with the Dolphins.

Turner has missed a couple weeks due to his shoulder injury and there has been no word on when he'll be able to return. The team reported that he won't dress Thursday, meaning he'll miss his third consecutive exhibition game. Entering camp on the fringe of the roster, Turner's odds of making the team are becomming slimmer with each practice and game he misses.

  • Eagles' Paul Turner: Missing practice Wednesday

Turner (shoulder) isn't practicing Wednesday, ESPN.com's Tim McManus reports.

An undrafted rookie last year, Turner shined in the preseason and also caught nine passes in four regular-season appearances, but he seems like a long shot to stick with the team this time around, after the Eagles signed Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) and Torrey Smith and drafted Mack Hollins and Shelton Gibson. The missed practice time won't help Turner's already-slim chances of making the cut.

  • Eagles' Paul Turner: Catches two passes in season finale

Turner caught two of four targets for 30 yards during Sunday's season finale against the Cowboys.

Every pass catcher in Sunday's game was overshadowed by Philadelphia TE Zach Ertz (who caught 13 passes for 139 yards and two scores Sunday), and Turner was no different. Even in Jordan Matthews' (ankle) absence, the rookie only finished fifth on the team in targets. With the 2016 season now in the books, Turner will look to build upon his late-season progress in the offseason and carve out a complementary role in the Eagles' passing attack behind Ertz and Matthews in advance of the 2017 campaign.

  • Eagles' Paul Turner: Leading receiver in loss to Bengals

Turner caught six of eight targets for 80 yards in Sunday's 32-14 loss to the Bengals.

Turner was not targeted last week in his NFL debut, but he led the team in receiving yardage in this one, thanks in part to an explosive 41-yard catch and run in the third quarter. Jordan Matthews (ankle) did not play, and Dorial Green-Beckham left the game to undergo X-rays on his ribs, opening the door for Turner to experience a bump in usage. With his teammates ailing and the Eagles receiving corps struggling as a whole, he could be similarly involved next week against the Redskins.

  • Eagles' Paul Turner: No targets Monday

Turner wasn't targeted Monday against the Packers, despite picking up 23 of the Eagles' 59 offensive snaps.

In his NFL debut, Turner was conceivably a threat to make an impact due to Nelson Agholor's inclusion on the inactive list, Jordan Matthews' battle with a sprained ankle, and the Packers' yielding defense on the other side. Because Philadelphia's offensive was largely ineffective without Matthews for most of the game and Ryan Mathews (knee) inactive himself, Dorial Green-Beckham was the leading receiver with six receptions for 82 yards. Bryce Treggs (one catch for 11 yards) earned the start opposite Matthews. Otherwise a non-factor out of the slot Monday, Turner could be pushed aside for Agholor this weekend at Cincinnati, if the latter regains his former standing.

  • Eagles' Paul Turner: Slated for NFL debut

Turner is expected to feature more at slot receiver if teammate Nelson Agholor is deemed inactive for Monday night's game against the Packers, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

Turner was promoted to Philadelphia's active roster last week after a zero-catch performance from Agholor added to his woes this season. While Agholor's struggles have put his status for Monday's game in question, Turner figures to make his NFL debut against the Packers. After leading the Eagles in receiving during the preseason, it'll be interesting to see if Turner's play can translate to the slot role he's slated to occupy in Week 12.

  • Eagles' Paul Turner: Promoted to active roster

Turner was signed to the Eagles' active roster Monday.

Turner was a force in the preseason for Philadelphia, leading the team by a fair amount in both receptions and receiving yards. His 17 catches for 165 yards during that four-game stretch was not enough to land him a spot on the active roster at the time, but he will now have another opportunity to secure his spot in the Eagles wideout corps going forward. For the time being, however, he isn't worthy of fantasy consideration, as there is no saying what his role will be in his first regular season game with the team.

  • Eagles' Paul Turner: Set to be released by the Eagles

The Eagles are set to waive Turner on Sunday, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports.

Turner survived final cuts Saturday as teams trimmed their roster to 53 players, but it appears his stint with Philadelphia won't extend into the regular season. Despite an impressive preseason, Turner's release was necessary to make room for recently acquired players. Given his strong impression as an undrafted free agent, Turner should be expecting to find a new home quickly.

  • Eagles' Paul Turner: Headed for spot on final roster

Turner has an improved shot to make the final roster after the Eagles released Rueben Randle and Chris Givens on Sunday, Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

An undrafted rookie, Turner has been one of the few bright spots in Philadelphia's receiving corps this preseason, catching 11 passes for 99 yards on 14 targets. Following Sunday's transactions, it appears Turner and Josh Huff will join Jordan Matthews (knee), Nelson Agholor and Dorial Green-Beckham on the final roster. Turner probably won't be any higher than fourth on the Week 1 depth chart, but there could be opportunity for advancement amongst a shaky position group.

  • Eagles' Paul Turner: Another strong preseason showing

Turner had three receptions for 44 yards in Thursday's preseason win over Pittsburgh.

Turner, an undrafted free agent from Louisiana Tech, had a second consecutive impressive preseason game after six receptions in his first game. He got some playing time with Sam Bradford and had an impressive 17-yard catch. It looks like he could win a roster spot, but it would still seem unlikely he'll have a significant role in the offense. However, Philadelphia's receiver corps lacks established names, so he could see some opportunity at some point.

  • Eagles' Paul Turner: Catches six passes in preseason opener

Turner caught six passes for 34 yards on seven targets in Thursday's preseason opener against Tampa Bay.

An undrafted rookie out of Louisiana Tech, Turner is merely hoping to earn one of the final spots on the Week 1 roster. He's unlikely to have a significant role this season, but his bid to make the team is off to a nice start. Turner and Zach Ertz were the only Eagles to catch more than two passes in Thursday's ugly game.
