If one were to look at Andrew Shaw’s recent search history, it might include this: “Is it bad if I swallowed a couple of my teeth?” Because the Chicago Blackhawks agitator swallowed a couple of his teeth during Friday night’s game against the Florida Panthers.

The unfortunate dental work occurred while Shaw was just minding his own business sitting on the bench. A puck came up and got him right in the mouth, creating a gash that required 18 stitches to his lower lip. It also knocked out two of his bottom teeth, both of which he ended up swallowing, as told to Brian Hedger of NHL.com:

Here's a look at the play that cost Shaw his chiclets. He actually got knocked off his seat by the blow, which likely contributed to the teeth going down his throat (h/t Second City Hockey):

And because hockey players are as crazy as they are tough, Shaw managed to return to the game. And guess what happened? He got hit in the face again. Another puck came up and got him above the left eye. The forward had a pretty succinct way of describing his night to Hedger:

Sure was.

Shaw’s face has been a bit of a puck magnet over the years, though. He famously took a puck up high which opened up a cut that required stitches, during the decisive Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final. Shaw returned to the game, the Blackhawks won the Cup and those stitches ended up being auctioned off for charity and fetched $6,500.

Guessing no one is going to want to bid on those teeth once he gets them back, though.
