Milan vs. Juventus score: Tim Weah notches game-winning assist to beat Christian Pulisic, Yunus Musah

Juventus won at San Siro against AC Milan on Sunday 1-0 and are now only two points behind Inter near the top of the Serie A table. It was a huge win for the Bianconeri thanks to a goal scored by a former AC Milan midfielder Manuel Locatelli, assisted by American Tim Weah. After a solid start for the home side, the Rossoneri saw their game plan change at the end of the first half when Malick Thiaw was sent off for a foul on Moise Kean. Coach Stefano Pioli decided to replace USMNT winger Christian Pulisic to have another center back after the red card.

The second half saw the two teams have a similar approach to the first one, but Allegri's team managed to score the opening goal with Locatelli thanks to a deflection off Rade Krunic, and hold on the rest of the way.

The match was definitely affected by the red card, as AC Milan couldn't react and had to deal with it for the whole second part of the game. For Juventus, it was a crucial win that put the Bianconeri back on track for the title race, that now see three teams within two points.

Here's what to know:

Three teams for the title race

The title race is now back on with three teams competing for one spot. Inter are now leading the Serie A table with 22 points, while AC Milan have 21 and Juventus are now third with 20. Allegri's team needed this win and can now dream of being back in the discussion for the Scudetto race, despite all the off the pitch issues and the injuries that are affecting the roster. AC Milan are still there, while Inter's 3-0 win against Torino put the Nerazzurri back in the first place in the table. Napoli can also think of being back in the race, but the Azzurri need to keep up with the positive results after a disappointing start to the season. Rudi Garcia's team are now fifth with 17 points, five less than the league's leaders.

AC Milan's second loss comes to another title rival

For sure, the Rossoneri saw their game plan change after the red card, but it's a fact that the team coached by Stefano Pioli failed to create chances in the second half. AC Milan were definitely unlucky also for the deflection that caused the goal scored by Locatelli, but maybe replacing a defender for Pulisic wasn't the right idea at the end. AC Milan lost two games so far, against Inter and Juventus, the two Serie A title rivals.

Allegri has reasons to be thrilled

On the other hand, Allegri must be happy after Sunday's clash. Juventus, with many players injured, have also had to deal with the off-the-pitch issues involving Paul Pogba, who is suspended after testing positive for enhanced levels of testosterone, and Nicolò Fagioli, who will miss the rest of the season after he admitted he placed bets on soccer games. The Bianconeri showed to be a consistent side on the pitch and those three points are the best gift for the coach of the Italian side, who are now fully back in the title race.

A quiet start

The two teams are not creating a lot. AC Milan have to deal with the red card, while Juventus still haven't created yet in the second half. The Rossoneri made two more changes with Krunic and Jovic coming in instead of Adli and Giroud, while Allegri decided to insert Cambiaso and Vlahovic instead of Kostic and Kean. Let's see if something changes now...

Here we are!

Welcome to San Siro for the last match of today's action, with AC Milan hosting Juventus. AC Milan against Juventus is always one of the most awaited games of the season and this year it gets the added wrinkle of pitting Americans against Americans. Not only is Stefano Pioli's side currently leading the Serie A table with 21 points ahead of the match at San Siro against third-place Massimiliano Allegri's side, but four USMNT players are expected to start, which has never happened before in the Italian first division. Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah look ticketed to suit up for Milan, with Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah on the other side playing for the Bianconeri.
