As WWE continues to expand its brand and enhance its offerings for the WWE Network, it has announced a first-of-its-kind women's tournament that will be held in Orlando, Florida, in mid-July.

Officially dubbed the Mae Young Classic in honor of the women's wrestling pioneer who died at the age of 90 in 2014, the women's tournament will feature 32 of the top females from 17 countries around the world.

It is not known at this time whether women currently signed to WWE -- either those on the main roster or who have debuted on the NXT developmental brand -- will perform in the tournament, though WWE certainly has others currently training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

The event will be held on July 13-14 at Full Sail University, the home of NXT and WWE's first network-specific tournament, the Cruiserweight Classic. In January, WWE held its second tournament to name the company's first United Kingdom champion.
