An incredible college basketball record was set Thursday afternoon in Waco, Texas.

The Baylor women's basketball team achieved an NCAA Division I record by beating an opponent by 108 points. The 140-32 flattening of Winthrop amounts to the most statistically dominant victory in the history of women's hoops The Bears' point total was the second-most in NCAA history.

It's an incredible mark. Multiple players put up career highs in points and rebounds. Baylor, which is ranked No. 3 in the women's AP poll, also set program records for rebounds (75), field goals (58), assists (42) and blocks (17). Baylor shot 61 percent; Winthrop shot 14 percent.

Baylor made 11 3-pointers; Winthrop made nine field goals altogether.

It's an amazing feat, topping Grambling State's long-standing record from 1986 when the Tigers won by 102 points in a 139-37 rout of Jarvis Christian College.

Winthrop entered the game as an easy target. The team's won just once all season. Baylor is now 11-1, with that one loss coming vs. No. 1 UConn. But this is an accomplishment that even the mighty Huskies cannot match.

Things are going pretty well for Baylor all around. The men's team is off to an undefeated start -- and has the best resume in all of men's college basketball to this point.
