Butler isn't wasting time in its search to replace Brad Stevens. A source told CBSSports.com that athletic director Barry Collier will interview Michigan assistant LaVall Jordan on Thursday afternoon and that, if everything goes smoothly, Jordan could be offered the job before the weekend. Jordan is, as ESPN.com has also reported, considered the front runner, meaning it is basically his job to lose, though current Butler assistant Brandon Miller is also under consideration.
Miller interviewed with Collier on Wednesday, according to the Indianapolis Star.
Jordan, 34, played at Butler from 1998 to 2001, then spent four years as an assistant at his alma mater under Todd Lickliter from 2003 to 20007. Jordan has also been on staff at Iowa. The past three seasons were spent on John Beilein's staff at Michigan.
Stevens left Butler on Wednesday after six seasons to coach the NBA's Boston Celtics.
