Michigan State opens up the college basketball season on Friday in Germany, facing Connecticut in the Armed Forces Classic.

In the spirit of the event, it looks like the Spartans are rolling out some new camouflage uniforms.

The official Michigan State basketball Twitter account unveiled the uniform -- jersey, shorts, sneakers, shoelaces and socks -- on Sunday morning. At first glance, they’re pretty cool --and very different.

"Nike outdid themselves," coach Tom Izzo said in the above video. "It’s an unbelievable job. ... I think our players appreciated it. ... They look sharp."

These uniforms look like nothing in college hoops right now, and whether you like them or not, it’s certainly a nice tribute to the armed forces. Personally, I like how they went all-out with the uniforms; how often do you see camouflage shoelaces?
