What to Know

The San Diego Toreros have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. San Diego and the #22 Saint Mary's Gaels will face off in a West Coast battle at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday at University Credit Union Pavilion. The Toreros have not won a single game against Saint Mary's in their most recent matchups, going 0-11 since January of 2016.

San Diego received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 79-66 to the Santa Clara Broncos. The losing side was boosted by guard Marcellus Earlington, who had 23 points in addition to eight boards.

Meanwhile, Saint Mary's was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 77-72 to Santa Clara. One thing holding the Gaels back was the mediocre play of guard Alex Ducas, who did not have his best game: he finished with only eight points on 3-for-11 shooting in his 34 minutes on the court.

The Toreros have to know they'll be fighting an uphill battle given the 14.50 point spread they are up against. The odds have been favorable for them against the spread on the road this season, even if it's been tough sledding overall. They are 7-3 ATS in away games but only 12-10 all in all.

With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the win. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
