Who's Playing

Louisiana-Monroe @ SMU

Current Records: Louisiana-Monroe 2-3; SMU 4-3

What to Know

The SMU Mustangs' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks at 3 p.m. ET Nov. 28 at Moody Coliseum. The Mustangs are out to keep their four-game home win streak alive.

SMU can't say they have nothing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving week. They picked up a 75-66 win over the Sam Houston Bearkats this past Wednesday. It was another big night for SMU's guard Kendric Davis, who had 21 points in addition to six rebounds.

As for Louisiana-Monroe, it looks like they got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. Their painful 96-74 defeat to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs this past Wednesday might stick with them for a while. Louisiana-Monroe was surely aware of their 16.5-point disadvantage in the point spread, but the foreknowledge did nothing to prevent the result.

SMU is the favorite in this one, with an expected 16.5-point margin of victory. Now might not be the best time to take the Mustangs against the spread since they've let down bettors for the past four consecutive games.

SMU is now 4-3 while the Warhawks sit at 2-3. Two stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: SMU has allowed their opponents an average of 8.1 steals per game, the 45th most in college basketball. To make matters even worse for SMU, Louisiana-Monroe comes into the game boasting the 14th most steals per game in college basketball at 10.6. In other words, the Mustangs will need to work extra hard to take care of the ball.
