Central Michigan @ No. 9 Kentucky
Current Records: Central Michigan 1-4; Kentucky 5-1
What to Know
The #9 Kentucky Wildcats will play host again and welcome the Central Michigan Chippewas to Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center, where tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Monday. The Wildcats are out to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
UK simply couldn't be stopped this past Friday, as they easily beat the North Florida Ospreys at home 86-52. UK's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but guard Sahvir Wheeler led the charge as he dropped a double-double on 14 assists and 12 points.
As for CMU, it looks like they got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. They took a 76-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bellarmine Knights.
UK is the favorite in this one, with an expected 32-point (!) margin of victory. Those who got lucky with them against the spread this past Friday might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the team has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
UK's victory brought them up to 5-1 while the Chippewas' defeat pulled them down to 1-4. A couple stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Wildcats come into the matchup boasting the 26th most points per game in college basketball at 83.3. Less enviably, CMU is 353rd worst in college basketball in points allowed per game, with 84.2 on average. So the cards are definitely stacked against CMU.
