Criswell, the 58th overall pick in the 2020 first-year player draft, signed for a $1 million bonus Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The talented right-hander was a standout at the University of Michigan, where he helped the Wolverines to a College World Series berth in 2019 by going 7-1 with a 2.72 ERA and racking up 116 strikeouts over 106 innings. Criswell's current three-pitch arsenal is spearheaded by a mid-90s fastball, but it remains to be seen if his future will be in the rotation or the bullpen.
