Rangers outfield prospect Jairo Beras needs surgery for a broken hamate bone in his left hand, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He is expected to be ready for the instructional league season.

Beras, who began playing for the Arizona League Rangers (rookie) in early July, hit .250 with two doubles, two triples, two home runs, 11 runs and 15 RBI in 17 games.
