Walters was added to the 40-man roster Friday.
Walters missed the first half of the season recovering from Tommy John surgery, but ended up impressing in a limited stint with Double-A Binghamton to the tune of a 1.96 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 18.1 innings. He should get the chance to progress to Triple-A in 2016.
