Red-hot infielder Carlos Sanchez demoted by White Sox

Shortstop Carlos Sanchez was having an excellent spring for the White Sox, but that could not save him from being optioned Friday to Triple-A Charlotte. Joining him were pitcher Frank De Los Santos and Nestor Molina.

The 21-year-old Sanchez was 7 for 13 for a team-best .538 batting average in exhibition play. He also tied for the team lead with two stolen bases.
