Contreras went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Tigers.

Contreras opened the scoring in the third inning with his first big-league homer in his ninth career game. The 27-year-old showed modest power in the minors, hitting 10 games in 73 contests at Triple-A St. Paul this year. With the Twins, he's batting .125 with three RBI and four runs scored in 17 plate appearances. Contreras is probably going to see inconsistent playing time while the Twins are short on outfield depth.
