The Twins have selected Lewis with the first overall pick in the 2017 first-year player draft.
Lewis is oozing with tools on the offensive side of the ball. He is at least a 70-grade runner from the right side and might have the quickest bat in the draft, hinting at plus raw power down the road. That bat speed allows him to make consistent contact, earning him above-average to plus grades on his future hit tool. While he has not officially moved off shortstop, Lewis is likely to end up in center field as a pro. It is fair to wonder whether he will encounter some struggles initially in the upper levels, as advanced pitchers might be able to exploit the aggressive approach that typically manifests itself in hitters with plus-plus bat speed. His fantasy ceiling might be the highest in this class, but he will likely begin his pro career in rookie ball, with an ETA of 2020 or 2021.
