Guillorme will hit eighth and play second base Thursday against the Royals. The Angels acquired Guillorme Thursday and he'll immediately be set for his debut with the team. With Brandon Drury (hamstring) landing on the injured list, Guillorme could be in line for regular playing time in the short term.... See More ... See Less

Angels' Luis Guillorme: Dealt to Halos
The Angels acquired Guillorme from Atlanta on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. After joining Atlanta on a one-year, $1.1 million deal in January, Guillorme had received limited usage through the first month and a half of the season, logging just 21 plate appearances while seeing action in 10 of the team's 34 games. The infielder should be in store for more playing time with the Angels, who currently have three infielders on the injured list (Anthony Rendon, Miguel Sano and Michael Stefanic) and another two who are day-to-day (Brandon Drury and Luis Rengifo). A glove-first player with a career 93 wRC+ and just five home runs and four stolen bases over 345 MLB games, Guillorme won't make for an especially appealing fantasy option even if he falls into regular at-bats in Anaheim.... Braves' Luis Guillorme: Sitting against lefty
Guillorme is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins. Guillorme and fellow lefty-hitting regular Jarred Kelenic will head to the bench for the series opener while Miami brings southpaw Ryan Weathers to the hill. David Fletcher will spell Guillorme at the keystone.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Luis Guillorme: Sits vs. lefty
Guillorme is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Texas. The 29-year-old started the past two games at second base after Ozzie Albies (toe) was placed on the injured list, but the lefty-hitting Guillorme will sit Friday as southpaw Andrew Heaney pitches for the Rangers. David Fletcher will take over at the keystone and bat ninth.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Luis Guillorme: Starting for Albies
Guillorme will start at second base and bat eighth Tuesday against the Astros. The 29-year-old saw his first plate appearances of the season Monday, going 1-for-3 with two strikeouts, and he's now poised for more playing time after Ozzie Albies (toe) was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Guillorme could fill the large side of a platoon at second base along with David Fletcher, who replaced Albies on the major-league roster.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Luis Guillorme: Gets rare start Monday
Guillorme went 1-for-3 in Monday's win over the Astros. Getting the start at shortstop and batting ninth, the veteran utility player saw his first plate appearances of the season and recorded his first hit. Atlanta manager Brian Snitker doesn't tend to give his starters many rest days, so Guillorme's playing time figures to be limited all season; however, he could see additional action this week after Ozzie Albies (toe) was seen limping in the locker room after Monday's contest.... Braves' Luis Guillorme: Back in action Tuesday
Guillorme (quad) is starting at shortstop and batting second for Atlanta in his return to the lineup Tuesday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports. It's his first game since Feb. 28, as the 29-year-old has been battling a sore quad. Guillorme will fill a utility infielder role for Atlanta this season.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Luis Guillorme: Taking batting practice
Guillorme (quad) took on-field batting practice Thursday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. Braves' Luis Guillorme: Dealing with quad soreness
Guillorme is dealing with quad soreness and is expected to be back in games soon, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Tuesday. Guillorme has not played in a spring game since Feb. 28. Despite this, he has been taking ground balls during batting practice. The 29-year-old signed with Atlanta on a one year contract in January, adding depth to the team's infield.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Luis Guillorme: Signs with Atlanta
Guillorme signed a one-year, $1.1 million contract with Atlanta on Friday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Guillorme was non-tendered by the Mets earlier in the offseason, and he'll stay put in the NL East. The 29-year-old slashed .224/.288/.327 across 120 plate appearances last season, and he'll add depth behind Atlanta's star-studded infield.... See More ... See Less -
Luis Guillorme: Moves into free agency
Guillorme was non-tendered by the Mets on Friday. Guillorme battled injuries in 2023 and slashed just .224/.288/.327 across 120 plate appearances when healthy. The 29-year-old utility infielder is now officially a free agent.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Makes return from IL
Guillorme (calf) was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. Guillorme has been on the shelf since late July because of a right calf strain, but he's been cleared to return to action following a six-game rehab assignment. Infielder Jonathan Arauz was sent down to Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Set for rehab assignment
Guillorme (calf) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Friday with High-A Brooklyn, Tim Healey of Newsday reports. Guillorme has been out since late July because of a Grade 2 strain of his right calf, but he began a running program in late August and has responded well over the last few weeks. The 28-year-old utility man was batting .238/.304/.347 through 50 games this year for the Mets prior to his lengthy IL stint.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Begins running program
Guillorme (calf) began a running program Friday, MLB.com reports. Guillorme has already been fielding and hitting and is finally ready to test out his right calf strain with some running. He's five weeks into a projected 4-6 week recovery timeline and could conceivably be activated when rosters expand in September.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Likely out 4-to-6 weeks
Guillorme (calf) is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks after imaging scans Tuesday showed a Grade 2 strain of his right calf. Guillorme was placed on the 10-day injured list over the weekend and can now be ruled out until at least late August or possibly even into September. The 28-year-old had slashed .238/.304/.347 with one home run through 50 games (114 plate appearances) in a utility-infield role this season with the Mets.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Goes on IL with calf strain
The Mets placed Guillorme on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right calf strain. Mets' Luis Guillorme: Recalled from Triple-A
Guillorme was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports. Guillorme is taking the roster spot of Pete Alonso (wrist) and will provide depth at all four infield spots. He's managed just a .590 OPS at the big-league level in 2023.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Expected to be recalled
Guillorme is headed to Pittsburgh to join the Mets and is expected to be recalled prior to Friday's game, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. Guillorme looks to be the corresponding roster move for Pete Alonso (wrist), who is headed to the injured list. The utility infielder has posted just a .590 OPS this season but will offer the Mets a quality glove at multiple spots as they scramble to account for the loss of Alonso.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Headed to Triple-A
The Mets optioned Guillorme to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday. He'll head down to the minors to clear room on the 26-man active roster for corner infielder Mark Vientos, who was called up from Triple-A. Guillorme is the Mets' best and most versatile defensive infielder, but his bat has been even weaker than usual this season and the floundering New York offense could benefit from the higher offensive upside that Vientos offers.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Getting a start
Guillorme is starting at second base and batting ninth for the Mets on Wednesday against the Dodgers, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports. Manager Buck Showalter is loading up his lineup with lefties against former Met Noah Syndergaard.
