Carroll went 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Reds. Carroll delivered the go-ahead run on a two-out single in the top of the eighth inning, a half inning after the Reds plated three runs to tie the game. The outfielder returned to the top of the order this week after a season-opening slump dropped him to the lower third in late April. He's worked through the slow start, which he attributed to a flat swing, per Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports. Indeed, Carroll's gotten under balls which has contributed to a pop-up rate of 15.2 percent, more than double than what it was in 2023 (7.3 percent).... See More ... See Less

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Homer, five RBI in victory
Carroll went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and five total RBI in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Reds. Carroll looked back at home in the leadoff spot Tuesday -- a season-opening slump had lowered him to the bottom third of the order the last two weeks. After driving in two runs early in the game, the 23-year-old outfielder broke the game open with a three-run homer off the left-handed Justin Wilson in the seventh inning, his second long ball of the year and first since April 9, extending Arizona's lead to 5-0. After a brutal start to the season, it looks like Carroll may be starting to turn things around at the plate -- he now has at least one hit in six of his last seven contests, going 8-for-27 in that span. He's still slashing an uninspiring .211/.300/.278 through 34 games with 15 runs scored, 12 RBI and eight stolen bases.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Moves up to leadoff spot Tuesday
Carroll will start in center field and bat leadoff in Tuesday's game in Cincinnati. It's the first time since April 22 that Carroll has hit higher than seventh. The reigning National League Rookie of the Year did have two base knocks and two RBI in Monday's game, his first multi-hit effort since April 19.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Breaks RBI drought
Carroll went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 11-4 win over San Diego. Carroll delivered a two-run single as part of Arizona's four-run first inning, snapping a 16-game drought without an RBI. He's hit in five of the last six games (6-for-22), which is a positive sign for the slumping outfielder, but Carroll's bat still lacks impact. Through 33 games, he has seven RBI, four extra-base hits and a .250 slugging percentage.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Slump continues
Carroll batted seventh and went 0-for-4 in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Mariners. Carroll, who was dropped in the order Wednesday following a day off amid a slump, has hit seventh or eighth over the last four contests. It hasn't helped awake the bat. Carroll is 0-for-13 in those four games and is 1-for-25 with 11 strikeouts over the last seven. He's sitting at .189/.295/.236 with just five RBI over 27 games.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Day off against left-hander
Carroll is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in St. Louis. Left-hander Steven Matz is toeing the rubber for the Cardinals, so it's not a bad time to give the left-batting Carroll a day off as he goes through a season-opening slump. Carroll is slashing just .175/.298/.175 over his last 10 games. Jake McCarthy will play center field and Randal Grichuk will be in right Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Steals bag in loss
Carroll went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Friday's 9-6 loss to St. Louis. Carroll extended a hit streak to six games and swiped his fourth bag of the season. He leads the Diamondbacks in steals, but it's been a slow start to the season for Carroll, who still carries just a .684 OPS, so his hit streak is a welcome sign. He's mired in the lower percentile of average exit velocity (82.3 mph) and is chasing more than ever (32.3 percent).... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Leadoff homer in win
Carroll went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Rockies. Carroll, who filled in as the leadoff batter for a resting Ketel Marte, homered on the second pitch of the game, sending a slider on the outside corner the other way. It was the first home run of the season for Carroll, who's wielded a quiet bat out of the gate -- he entered with a .590 OPS and one RBI through 10 games.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Two hits, steal in loss
Carroll went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Monday's 7-5 loss to Colorado. Carroll stole his third bag (caught twice) and logged his third multi-hit game of the season. He's batting just .225 with has one extra-base and one RBI through the season's first 10 games.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Getting day off Tuesday
Carroll is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Yankees, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports. Though he has already drawn six walks, Carroll has just three singles and no RBI in his first five games this season. He'll get a breather Tuesday while Jorge Barrosa makes his first major-league start in center field and Jake McCarthy plays right.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Swipes first bag of season
Carroll went 2-for-3 with two walks, a run and a stolen base in a loss against Colorado on Saturday. Carroll has yet to record an extra-base hit through three games, but he's gotten on base eight times over 15 plate appearances due largely to his five walks. The talented young star swiped his first bag of the campaign Saturday and should be able to record plenty more thefts if he continues to reach base frequently, as he notched 54 steals on 59 attempts last year. Carroll also hit 25 homers, 30 doubles and 10 triples last season, so his power is likely to show up before long.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Scores run Friday
Carroll went 0-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's Cactus League game against the Cubs. Carroll batted leadoff and scored his third run in the last four games. The outfielder is expected to be Arizona's primary leadoff batter, and among the many assets he offers to fantasy lineups is runs. Carroll finished seventh in MLB in that category last season, crossing the plate 116 times.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Collects three hits and two steals
Carroll went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Phillies in Game 7 of the NLCS. Carroll had a much-needed offensive breakthrough in Tuesday's outing since he had gone 3-for-24 in the prior six games of the series. The rookie outfielder is now in second place for steals in this postseason with four total and showed his utilization of elite-level sprint speed to generate runs. Carroll is now slashing .295/.396/.455 with two home runs, nine runs and six RBI in 44 at-bats this postseason.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Not in Sunday's lineup
Carroll is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Astros, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports. Carroll will sit for the final contest of the regular season with Arizona having already secured a spot in the playoffs. The 23-year-old is the frontrunner for NL Rookie of the Year with 25 homers, 54 steals, 76 RBI, 116 runs and an .868 OPS in 155 games.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Adds two more steals
Carroll went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two stolen bases in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Astros. Carroll's double was his 30th of the season, though it's hardly the most impressive of his milestones. He's hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games, going 20-for-55 (.364) in that span with seven steals and seven RBI. For the season, the rookie outfielder has managed a .287/.363/.510 slash line, 54 thefts, 25 home runs, 76 RBI, 116 runs scored and 10 triples over 154 games. He's thrived in virtually every way possible on offense in his first full campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Doubles in two
Carroll went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the White Sox. Carroll's two-run double highlighted a three-run third inning that powered Arizona to victory. The leading candidate for NL Rookie of the Year, Carroll has been pivotal during an 8-2 stretch, which has the Diamondbacks on the brink of the playoffs. He's batting .364 (16-for-44) with four extra-base hits, seven RBI, four steals and 11 runs scored over the last 10 games.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Makes history in Wednesday's win
Carroll went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, two additional runs scored and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Giants. He continues his march toward the NL Rookie of the Year Award, and Carroll's big afternoon Wednesday made him the first rookie in history with 25 homers and 50 steals in a year -- and only the second ever to do it by their age-22 season, with Houston's Cesar Cedeno in 1973 being the other. Carroll's putting an exclamation mark on his historic campaign by batting .329 (24-for-73) in September, and in addition to being third in the majors in stolen bases, he's sixth in runs with 109....
