Brand hinted Sunday that he'll likely retire after the season, independent 76ers writer Chris Vito reports.

Brand has taken on an increased role over the last few weeks, but he's mostly served as a veteran locker room presence for the 76ers since signing with the team. The former No. 1 overall pick enjoyed several productive years with the Bulls, Clippers, and 76ers (during an earlier stint), but at age 37, he's nearing the end of the road and would be unlikely to draw serious interest as a free agent. Brand holds career averages of 15.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.7 blocks over 17 seasons.
