Boozer is hopeful to return to the NBA during the upcoming season, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Following a disappointing 2014-15 campaign with an awful Lakers squad in which he averaged 11.8 points and 6.8 rebounds in 23.8 minutes per game, Boozer decided to take the past season off to spend time with his family. During that hiatus, Boozer continued to train regularly in Miami, and believes he's capable of serving as a mentor for young players and providing some minutes off the bench for a team in need of a veteran in the frontcourt. If Boozer is serious about a return, he'll likely have to wait a few weeks before landing a contract, as several younger, higher-upside free agent big men have set to sign with teams. It would be difficult for Boozer to attain fantasy relevance no matter where he lands.
