Weems signed a two-year guaranteed contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel on Wednesday, international basketball reporter David Pick reports.
Weems spent the last four seasons overseas in Lithuania and Russia before inking a two-year deal with the Suns this past offseason. He lasted just 36 games with the Suns before getting waived and joining the 76ers in March, who later waived him after seven games. The 29-year-old finished with averages of 2.5 points (on 38.2% shooting), 1.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists over 11.6 minutes during his two stops, numbers that didn't exactly have many other NBA teams interested in taking a flier on him. His contract with Maccabi will likely include an out clause for him to return to the NBA if another club expresses interest in him, but it's very possible we've seen the last of Weems in the league.
