Jer'Zhan Newton: Will miss combine

Newton (foot) underwent surgery in January to repair a partial Jones fracture in his foot and will not participate in next week's combine, Dane Brugler of The Athletic reports.

Newton was able to play through the injury to finish out his 2023 season at Illinois but ultimately needed a procedure to heal it. The projected first-round selection is expected to be recovered in time to work out for teams before the 2024 Draft, which begins April 25.
