Minnesota promoted Bartkowski from AHL Iowa on Friday.
The Wild only had six healthy defensemen on their roster prior to Bartkowski's promotion, so he'll be on hand as an emergency option for Friday's clash with Columbus. The 31-year-old American has picked up 18 points in 55 AHL appearances this season.
