Hillis was placed in the NHL's COVID-19 protocols Wednesday.
Hillis made his NHL debut in a 5-2 loss to the Panthers on Saturday, logging two shots on goal in 10:15 of ice time. The 21-year-old joins a large portion of the Canadiens' roster in the virus protocols. He'll need to return two negative tests to be cleared, but it's unclear if he'll be needed with the big club by the time they resume play.
