Sanford was placed on waivers Friday, according to Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports.
Sanford has two assists, four hits and eight blocks in 11 contests with Arizona this season. If he clears waivers, the 29-year-old will presumably return to AHL Tucson where he's contributed a goal and four points in 16 appearances.
