Sanford was summoned from AHL Tucson on Monday.
Arizona also brought up Jan Jenik on Monday because of injuries to Jason Zucker (lower body) and Michael Carcone (upper body). Sanford and Travis Boyd could occupy bottom-six roles in Tuesday's game versus the Kings. The 28-year-old Sanford supplied two goals, one assist, 20 shots on net, 21 blocked shots and 21 hits in 16 games for Nashville last season.
