Devils' Mason Geertsen: Sidelined by virus

The Devils placed Geertsen in COVID-19 protocols Friday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Geertsen, who's been a healthy scratch four of the last five games, will be unavailable Saturday and possibly longer. Once healthy, the 26-year-old figures to be New Jersey's fourth right defenseman until Dougie Hamilton (jaw, COVID-19) returns from injured reserve.
