Verbeek wasn't qualified by Detroit, which means he'll hit the market as an unrestricted free agent Wednesday, CapFriendly reports.
Verbeek has yet to make his NHL debut since signing an entry-level contract with the Canadiens in March of 2018. At this point it seems unlikely that he'll ever be a regular at the top level.
