Skarek was sent to AHL Bridgeport on Friday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.
Skarek is no better than fourth on the depth chart in goal for the Islanders. If he were to start a game for the team this season, things must have gone terribly wrong between the pipes. Skarek will serve as organizational depth in goal.
