Bellows will likely be given a chance to be an every-day player and is in the lineup Thursday against Boston, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
Coach Barry Trotz inserted Bellows into the game Thursday because Josh Bailey is out due to an upper-body injury. Trotz also stated that he believes Bellows is ready to take on a full-time role with the team. In the Islanders' 4-1 victory over the Bruins, Bellows had an assist, five shots on goals and a plus-1 rating in just under 15 minutes of ice time.
