Koivula was elevated from the minors Wednesday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
Koivula has notched 15 points in 17 games for AHL Bridgeport and could be immediately inserted in the lineup against the Rangers on Wednesday. If Koivula does suit up, it would likely be in favor of Anatoli Golyshev or Andy Andreoff. Once New York is able to get some guys back from the COVID-19 protocols, Koivula figures to find himself back in the minors.
