Aberg agreed to terms on a one-year deal with KHL team Traktor Chelyabinsk on Monday.
Aberg put up solid numbers in the minors with 20 goals and 24 helpers in 55 appearances but was only able to crack the Leafs' lineup five times this season. Despite Aberg signing overseas, the club will likely give him a qualifying offer this offseason in order to retain his rights.
