Lavoie was sent down to AHL Bakersfield on Tuesday.
Lavoie has been credited with three shots on goal, one blocked shot and seven hits in five NHL outings this season. He also has four goals and seven points over five AHL contests this campaign. Lavoie's demotion could mean that Connor Brown (knee) is ready to return to the lineup.
