The Sabres reassigned MacInnis to AHL Rochester on Friday.
MacInnis recorded two shots in 10 minutes of ice time Thursday after being called up from the taxi squad. With only one point in 27 career games, the 25-year-old is unlikely to see NHL playing time once Buffalo's regular forwards return to full health.
